At least for the Europeans in the Ryder Cup. We did get the US win, but the score was so one sided it was out of the realms of the 3 that I had selected at double figure odds.

October begins now and with it Jumps racing. In upcoming eletters I will be looking at the performance of favourites, second favourites and even third favourites ( hint here  – National Hunt Flat Races have shown an exceptional 10 year profit backing third favourites) over Hurdles, Chase fences, and with the aforementioned Bumpers ( National Hunt Flat Races).

So, by the end of October, you should have a clear indication for when favourites perform at their best, and under which conditions such as :

  • Class of race
  • Distance travelled
  • Age of horse
  • Race distance
  • Weight carried ( how do top weights get on?)
  • Race course
  • Race classification ( not just novice hurdles for instance, but novice handicap hurdles and all of the other types of Novice races)
  • Handicap and non handicap
  • Jockeys and trainers

With these stats, I will also drill down to look at the best long term staking plans to accompany these 1st, 2nd and 3rd favourites.

Onto the Football, and October, at least the end of October, is a time when I get excited. We’ll have some 8/9 matches under our belts and form lines and patterns will really start to emerge, making football matches throughout Europe much more readable, and therefore profitable! At the end of October, I’ll be showing you what I mean.

Have a Great Weekend.
