Thanks to Andrew David and Mr. Wiseman for their analyses of Andrew’s racing strategy. Andrew would like me to pass on some more distinctions, particularly regarding the staking plans.

Following on from Andrew David’s newsletter last week with details of the above system. Andrew and Mr Wiseman would like to point out the staking plan that resulted in a profit was one where you would add 1pt after each loser until a winner is hit, then you revert back to 1pt…So, 1pts, 2pts, 3pts, 4pts etc..

So, I hope that makes sense to you.

All eyes are on Epsom of course this weekend and the Derby.

As you know, I love checking out past results as potential keys to future profits with these high profile races.

Aidan O’Brien has won 3 of the last 4 runnings of the Epsom Derby and note this. Winners were at odds of 40/1, 13/2 and 25/1 so I would suggest you back all O’Brien selections each-way.  The market obviously has trouble determining Aidan O’Brien ‘outsiders’ and we might get another great run of a big odds Ballydoyle horse.

The last 4 winners have kicked the favourites to the kerb. 40/1, 16/1, 13/2 and 25/1 so if you don’t want to back Aidan O’Brien, then lay the favourite!

Some other key patterns?

  • 10 of the last 12 winners were drawn in stall 7 or higher
  • 10/12 winners had at least 3 previous flat runs
  • 12/12 winners had at least 1 run that season
  • 11/12 winners were rated 108 or higher

I’m simply backing Aidan O’Brien horses each way. All of them! It worked in 3 of the last 4 races. Come on the master of Ballydoyle!!
