My internet is back up at home at last so I can access the Betfair In Play coupon – do note that this is early season so we cannot really nail the research as yet, just make suggestions. I normally base my conclusions on form, but there is none at the start of the season.

1215pm – Ross Co v Celtic – 1.49 away – 2nd match of the SPL season so no need to use the betting research template just yet. Celtic will likely go top with a win today ( Dundee United have same points and 2+ goal difference though). A struggle for Celtic initially at home against Aberdeen saw an eventual 1-0 79th minute winner.
ross County coincidentally played Aberdeen last time out and drew 0-0. Ross County also drew 0-0 with Motherwell in their first match of the season at home.
a clean sheet so far for both sides then.
Celtic surely have too much for this newly promoted side, which makes 1.49 rather appealing. It could be a match where we employ delay tactics, as Ross County have 2 out of 2 clean sheets to date, but Celtic ( and latterly Rangers) are simply a class apart in this league and it is difficult to equate performances against Aberdeen and Motherwell with performances against Old Firm.
A possible win to nil for Celtic here, and a suspicion 0-0 is the best Ross County can hope for.

1245pm – Leeds v Wolves – 2.32 home – Nouble, Frimpong and Bassong interesting signings for Wolves. Wolves retain a large proportion of their premiership side and have a strong attacking line up.
A match very tough to call though.

The German Cup is on today with largely 230pm kick offs, and hot pots Hoffenheim ( 1.21 away), Leverkusen ( 1.21 away), Stuttgart( 1.04 away) and Dortmund ( 1.04 away) all play lower league opposition.
Only 1 draw for Hoffenheim in last 17 german cup matches could be an angle in.
The opposition has scored in each of the last 5 Hoff cup matches.

3rd tier v top tier for Leverkusen’s tie. Their opponents Carl Zeiss have lost 3-1 and 4-0 against 2 Bundesliga teams in Cup ties.
2 draws for Leverkusen in their last 2 Cup matches after 90 minutes , were long in extra time.
Leverkusen have lost 3 of their last 4 cup away matches. Is this simply a case of Leverkusen’s dismissal attitude to the Cup, or today with 3rd tier prove easy pickings?

Dortmund’s opponents are in the Oberliga and have lost their last 4 Cup matches, failing to score in 3. Dortmund’s 1.04 quote means goals galore under normal circumstances. Dortmund have kept a clean sheet in 7 of their last 8 cup matches, and only Bayern scored against them.
Lewandovski seems to remain – a big plus. kagawa off to Man Utd for 16 million euro.

Stuttgart are away to the might of Falkensee Finkenkrug -who have lost their last 9 Oberliga matches. They have never appeared in the german Cup.

Only Bayern Munich have beaten Stuttgart in their last 7 German Cup matches. In 2010 Chemnitzer held Stuttgart to a 1-1 draw

Possible angles in for Stuggart and Dortmund are big wins to nil, and the possibility of a player scoring a hatrick? Over 6.5goals ( if liquid – there’s no money in the market at the moment

3pm – Rangers v E Stirling – 1.06 home. 4 goals in total in rangers Division 3 match should continue today – 1.06 signals 4-0 + to the home side.Rangers lucky to come out of the away match v Peterhead with a 2-2 ( 90th minute goal).
East Stirling lost 0-2 at home to Queen’s park. Pressure already on Rangers to get a win to get the hell out of Division 3!!
Possible win to nil here. React traders beware if 0-0 for a concerted period. With Dortmund, Stuttgart and Rangers, you’re unlikely to get a winning lay, but laying at 1.06, 1.04 and 1.04 does no harm at all as liabilities are so low and you are primed from a trading perspective if it’s 0-0 or opponents score first.

545pm – PSV v Roda JC – 1.2 home – PSV 3-2 loss away in first match of season and already the pressure is on for a win today. They have scored 3-3-7-3 ( and Roda have scored 1-1-1-1) in their last 4 head to heads.
Over 4.5 goals is speculative incase there’s a repeat of the 3+ for PSV. 2 of last 4 head to heads have been 1-1 at halftime. Get stuck in if Roda score first, or it’s a draw at halftime.
PSV scored in the 3rd minute in the Super Cup and 8th minute away at Waalwijk in the League. Speculators might like to back a goal in the 0-10th minute in the First Goal odds market, although there’s no money in this market on betfair at time of writing , some 9 hours before kick off.

645pm – Breda v Twente – 1.7 away – I will be using the betting research template once the Dutch league has a few matches under its belt. One of the Triumvirate including Ajax and PSV, Twente will be fighting for the title. In head to heads, a 2-2 draw last time saw a Breda 93rd minute equaliser. A 0-1 away win prior to that.
A 1-1 draw away v Willem II for Breda was wholly underwhelming, seeing 2 2nd half goals in the 79th minute and then an 87th minute equaliser for Breda.
Twente beat groningen 4-1 with 2 goals in the first and 2nd halves and a late consolation for gron.

With PSV facing a probable victory , Twente would like to make it 2 from 2. 1.7 away usually indicates complications with a likely eventual away win, along the lines of conceding first, or a concerted draw, so backers of Twente might like to D-R-t – Delay-React-Trade in the hope Twente can be stopped from taking an early lead long enough for their odds to rise.
