Thanks to Southampton for scoring first . Everton were great. Thank you Spurs for going 0-2 up. United scored the next goal for another trade. They so nearly scored 3 again as head to heads suggested. Stoke again showed Swansea how it’s done. Peterborough ended their losing run, but unexpectedly against a Hull side who showed no cracks. Thanks again to Barcelona for going a goal down to Sevilla, infact going 2-0 down.

These enhanced bets/ delay trades are there if you look for them. Back favourites at favourable odds. Bayern Munich left it late but I was never worried about the 0-0 halftime lay not coming about ( well , alright, I sweated a little bit). Dortmund ended their sequence of conceding 3. I mentioned looking for a reaction and 5 goals to nil is some reaction. Normal service resumed?

The hatrick for PSG was so nearly there, but it was Gameiro who got 2 goals, and not 3.

1130am – AZ Alkmaar v Waalwijk – 1.38 home – 9th v8th today betrays such short odds for AZ.  AZ have won the last 6 head to heads but by diminishing authority. They used to score 6, but the last 2 wins were 2-1 and 1-0.  AZ’s 2 losses have come away this season, and at home, they have won 3-1, 4-0 and drawn 0-0 Waalwijk have conceded 2 in their 2 away matches this season. At home, they beat PSV 3-2 and lost 2-0 away at AZ.

AZ have a tendency towards overs this season.

Not much to go on. The odds do suggest this will be more emphatic than recent 2-1 and 1-0 head to head wins for AZ. They are yet to win away, but are unbeaten at home and their only concession at home was an 87th minute goal in 3 matches. AZ should not lose, but Waalwijk are not at a low enough price to lay . There is likely to be goals in the first half.

1pm Anzhi Makhachkala v Volga Nyzhnyi Novgorod – 1.25 home – again worth looking at Anzhi with that attacking force! Maybe we can load up on goals?

here we have a home team who have only lost once, against an away team with 7 defeats and a draw in their last 8.

Volga are 15th, Anzhi have beaten 16th 4-2. Volga have goals in them. They have scored in 5 of 7 defeats and scored 2 in 3 defeats. They have lost all matches home and away against top 9 sides. Anzhi are 2nd. Anzhi have only lost to top side, and that was a 1-0.

The probability of Volga losing 3-2 for a 3rd consecutive match is low, so perhaps, if they are to lose, it will be by nil or by scoring 1. Anzhi have scored 4 and 5 in their last 2 home matches. What chance 3+ from Anzhi? Make sure the big boys play -Eto’o and Traore in particular.

Angles in? Well Volga against top 9 have conceded 2+ goals on 7 out of 7 occasions so that’s a starting point. How likely are Volga to lose 3-2 again? Not likely.

2pm – Sampdoria v Napoli – 2.22 away – I will be following Napoli this season as they seem to be full of goals. Napoli have scored 3-2-3-0-3 this season in 4 wins and a draw. Obviously crackling up front.

Sampdoria too are unbeaten, 2 score draw sequence lately and they have scored and conceded in their last 4 matches. Napoli are yet to concede away in 2 matches. Indeed both sides are yet to concede in the first half hour. Napoli have scored 3 in the last 1/4 hour of both halves so look for a strong finish .

2.22 looks like a big price given their goalscoring form. Perhaps a saver on 0-0? Napoli won 4-0 in January 2011

Napoli have kept 2 consecutive clean sheets, so how much faith to place on Samp scoring and conceding as they have done in their last 4 matches.?

Angles in? Well with 2.22 away from home, the home side look layable to cover the draw. Expect NApoli to equalise if they concede first ( as Samp have scored and conceded in last 4).. Both sides are unbeaten. What chance a 3rd consecutive 1-1 for Sampdoria? Napoli can score 2/3 so this might end.

330am – VVV v PSV – 1.29 away – a win takes PSV 3rd .

No win for VVV versus no draw for PSV.

All draws for VVV have been score draws and they only lost 1-0 to Twente, current leaders. LWL for PSV away from home. That’s poor form PSV are full of goals at home, scoring 5-3-5 and away they have scored 2-3-0 so they do have goals in them, but what is behind the 2 losses?

LLD for VVV at home. They have conceded 3-4-2 at home and against a team like PSV full of goals, that could spell problems.

As ever with a team like VVV who score and concede, they could easily score first, which would of course be music to our ears! Get on PSV!

6-6-3-3-6-2 total goals in head to heads. PSV have been 2-0, 3-0, 3-0, 3-0, 2-0, 2-0 up in head to heads ( note those some scorelines have been 3-3, 2-4, 3-3) so both teams could score again.

4pm – Aston Villa v West Brom – 2.54 home.15th v 6th – a tough match for me, made tougher by the “local derby” aspect.

West Brom are in better form this season so far, albeit only 5 matches.

When Villa conceded 3 at home against Everton, we expected a reaction in their next match, Indeed we got it with a 2-0 win i.e. a clean sheet. Now Villa have just conceded 4 against Southampton ( away), will we expect a defensive reaction in this home match?

West Brom have not won away from home, drawing 1-1 with Spurs and losing 3-0 v Fulham

West Brom have not scored or conceded in the first 30 minutes so far this season. This will end at some time. But today?

A match I’m afraid I’m going to gloss over. I really cannot get an angle on Villa at all.

650pm – Real Madrid v Deportivo – 1.13 home – you know the score ( quite literally) when you see a team at 1.13 – 3/4 goals minimum and a possible win to nil.

2 away defeats for Real and a DW at home . Already they are behind Barcelona who won last night thanks to Sevilla fecking up a 2-0 lead.

0-0 last head to head, but Real have scored 9 goals in 2 matches at home in head to heads.

Real need the win. Only 5 matches. They have won 2-0 and 3-0 in 2 of their last 3 matches so could win to nil this evening. Tough to get a pattern as regards correct score. We need to see Higuan, Ronaldo, Benzema etc in.
