Here’s an update from Karl Dennis of the Karl Dennis Raceletter on his lower league bets –introduced to you in WRWM in late 2008.

Stockport are highly unlikely to win League 1 and our 66/1 bet is really a dream now. The 16/1 for them to go up though is still very interesting and I would be confident but for one major reason. The club is in financial turmoil and desperately is looking to unload players. Manager Jim Gannon, a former accountant, has actually drawn up his own blueprint for the way forward and accepts that his dream of promotion for the second year running is not looking as rosy as it once was.

The club though, has invested in youth and the manager is urging his youngsters to go out and prove that they can still do it once some senior players have departed. The club are adamant they won’t go into administration, though things are obviously tight.

It may well be that we end up with nothing at the end of the season, but we have had a great run with both Stockport and Championship side Swansea. The latter are a good side that plays some quality passing football. If they can make the play-offs they could surprise many. Bristol City are coming with a late surge and may well make the play-offs.

What we need to do now is to try and balance the books. We need a couple of safety bets and I believe we have them in Wolves and Wycombe.

Wolves will win the Championship, of that I’m certain, despite their current blip and with 6/4 available with Bet365, Coral, Ladbrokes and Betfred, they are worth a 4 point bet.

Peter Taylor has done a superb job at Wycombe yet despite their impressive form all season they can still be backed at 15/8 with Coral and Bet365. Bite their hands off with a 4-point bet.

In the lowest division 40/1 Exeter are giving us a great run for our money. I doubt they’ll catch Wycombe but the 9/1 to go up is looking very interesting.
