Gareth Waistcoat, erstwhile manager of England, got a tune out of Harry kane to end a run of 1-0 wins with a rather satisfying 2-0 v the Germans .

It’s Ukraine in Rome next on Saturday for Eng-er-land. Can they keep the clean sheets alive? Will Thomas Muller consent to play for Ukraine? We can only hope.

In the top goalscorer market, if England can reproduce the win to nil, then either Sterling or Kane are the likeliest scorers so backing them in the Top Goalscorer market at 8.8 and 27 may see an odds movement. Ronaldo is the favourite for the Golden Boot but he suffers from being, well, absent from the rest of the Tournament.

Given the general 1-0 to the Eng-er-land pattern, I thought I would share a blast from the past from WRWM writer the Patriarch.

How to Profit With Correct Score Perms

Our focus here is on the correct scores , in particular under 2.5. goals scores, and we defer in this instance to the bookmaker’s odds compiling abilities as the foundation for this strategy.

I will be focusing on 3 correct scores. These are

  • 1-0
  • 1-1
  • 0-1

All are, coincidentally, under 2.5 goals ( the remainder being 2-0, 0-0 and 0-2).

There is nothing stopping you from using those latter 3 under 2.5 goal correct scores, but my personal preference will be with the 1-0, 1-1, 0-1 scorelines.

We will be using the football markets at www.betfair.com.

I focus on 2 leagues, the English Premier League and the English Championship.

Our focus in these league’s matches will be on the prices for under 2.5 goals. We will take note of at least 4 matches with the lowest odds on offer for under 2.5 goals.

This is how the market will appear at www.betfair.com. Use the Football Tab, and click on all English Premier League and English Championship matches. Over/under 2.5 goals appear on the menu on the left.

Our entry will consist therefore of the four games with the four lowest odds

on offer for Under 2.5 Goals. You may not always get a

game with odds as low as the 1.4s, but you should get

ones with odds in the 1.5s and 1.6s and I would even

take one with a low 1.7 if I had to. But I would prefer

not to go any higher than that.

I must make do with the odds on off on the day of writing. These are the 4 matches with the lowest odds for under 2.5 goals.

Burnley v Leeds – 2.26

Southampton v Fulham – 1.9

Brighton v West Ham – 1.86

Aston Villa v Everton 2.02

These 4 under 2.5 goals bets could be combined into the following:

A Yankee

1 fourfold, 4 trebles and 6 doubles  = 11 bets

A lucky 15

1 fourfold, 4 trebles, 6 doubles, 4 singles = 15 bets. Or utilise this table below as it pertains to 4-folds and lower.

Watch out for more from the Patriarch…
