NEWMARKET GALLOP REPORTS

ISSUE 2

8TH – 9TH FEBRUARY 2008

Friday 8th February 2008:

PETER CHAPPLE – HYAM (Al Bahathri)

The Chapple – Hyam string are just getting into full work and Peter was keen on working a couple of promising sorts. Sandrey who ended up a useful 6 – 7f sprinter last season led the once raced Orientalist Art over 7f in what was a good swinging piece of work. Orientalist Art was partnered by Adrian McCarthy in the 7f gallop and travelled smoothly throughout before asserting a couple of lengths clear once asked.

The son of Green Desert could give jockey Alan Munro a return to the saddle on Saturday at Lingfield where he is expected to run in the 7f maiden. Having been 2nd to a subsequent group placed performer last season I would be surprised if he were to be a big price but his work at home suggests he will face little problem winning his maiden.

Might Be Magic is due to run on Friday at Lingfield and he has come on nicely since his Newmarket debut last season. He will be better in handicaps but worked well on Friday and would have each way claims on Friday in what looks a weak maiden.

Saturday 9th February 2008:

JEREMY NOSEDA (Al Bahathri)

A quiet work morning for Mr Noseda and all eyes were on Strike The Deal as he prepared for his trip to Dubai. Having looked in good order in a solo workout last week he was joined by Exhibition Art over 7f and made little effort in bursting clear of his work companion. He continues to look in good order and its remains all roads to Nad Al Sheba at the World Cup Meeting.
